Accessibility
Last updated: September 2026
We want FFF to work for people using a screen reader, keyboard-only navigation, or who need higher contrast or larger text. We’re not there yet in every corner of the site, and we’d rather say that plainly than claim a level of compliance we haven’t fully verified.
Where this stands legally
FFF is a microenterprise providing a service. Under the European Accessibility Act, microenterprises providing services are exempt from the accessibility requirements that apply to covered services.
We nevertheless treat accessibility as ongoing work and are working toward WCAG 2.2 AA as our practical accessibility standard.
What we’ve fixed
- Colour contrast. Gold buttons across the site (search, sign in, submit a brand, add a product) now use text with a contrast ratio of 6.36:1 in both themes.
- Closing menus with Escape. The category mega-menu and search filters can be closed with the Escape key and correctly announce their open or closed state to assistive technology.
- Form labels. Every input on sign-in and the brand submission form has a label associated with it, so a screen reader can identify what the field is for.
- Form errors are announced. Validation errors on those forms are announced to screen readers as they appear, rather than being shown only visually.
- Tap targets. The remove button on the product comparison tray and the buy button on product cards meet the 24×24px minimum target size used in our accessibility review.
- Pinch-to-zoom. We removed the mobile viewport setting that blocked pinch-to-zoom. Zoom now works on mobile and desktop.
Where we fall short
We haven’t completed a full accessibility audit. The work above included a code review, but not live testing with a screen reader or testing of every screen in the product.
Known gaps include keyboard focus order end-to-end, descriptive alternative text for some brand-supplied product images, and confirmation of every focus-indicator colour combination across both themes.
We also don’t yet have an automated test that would catch every future change that could reintroduce an accessibility issue.
What we’re working toward
We treat accessibility as ongoing work, not a one-time project. WCAG 2.2 AA is the standard we’re working toward as we build, even though we can’t yet claim to meet it in full.
Tell us what’s not working
If you hit a barrier using FFF — something you couldn’t reach with a keyboard, a label your screen reader skipped, or text that wasn’t legible — please tell us.
Email admin@fiberfirstfashion.com with the page you were on and what happened. We read every message and use this feedback to prioritise fixes.
